YES3
What is YES3?
The Yale Study Support Suite (YES3) are software tools designed at Yale and released to the REDCap consortium for worldwide use.
These global External Modules (EMs) work within REDCap to:
- Coordinate workflow and assignments
- Automate tasks
- Track milestones
- Monitor study progress
- Improve data quality
- Share information and reports
- Build datamarts
YES3 is intended to fast-track research by providing software that can be used (together or separately) and customized to YOUR project needs. The modules expand the functionality of REDCap and are meant to be used by an experienced REDCap-designer.
We hope research teams find creative use-cases for the software and, if you are software designer, that you build upon this work. The current iteration of YES3 is based on software systems designed, deployed, and perfected over several decades on a series of Yale School of Medicine projects by the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center (OAIC), under the leadership of Peter Charpentier.
How do I get it?
As modules are developed, they will be released to the Vanderbilt External Module (EM) Repository. You can search the repository here. Modules from the study support suite start with the “YES3” identifier.
You must have access to REDCap. You can talk to your local REDCap administrator who will be able to download the YES3 module from the Vanderbilt Repository and then install it on your project. If you are external- please do not send us a request to set up a REDCap account to use YES3. Our system is only available to Yale University affiliates.

How is it supported? How much does it cost?
This work was funded by the NIH through:
-
Office of Data Science Strategy (ODSS)
-
National Institute on Aging (NIA)
YES3 modules in development are supported through development grants and individual grants. YES3 will be made available to the Vanderbilt Consortium at no cost. EM documentation contains the funding source and grant number. If you used YES3 software to support your research, we greatly appreciate an acknowledgement of the software, funding source, and grant number so we can continue this important work.
