Yale NetID and Password

Anyone with a valid Yale NetID can access and use REDCap. This does not include people responding to surveys; they do not need a Yale NetID.

1. To Reset your Password

Reset your password here or call the ITS Help Desk at (203) 432-9000. When making this request, please refrain from mentioning REDCap. If you do, it is likely that you will be referred to REDCap and we do not have the ability to reset Yale NetID passwords.

2. To Obtain a Yale NetID for External Users

If you are working with people who do not have a Yale NetID and they need access to your REDCap project, you can obtain a Yale NetID for them under a Sponsored Identity through your Business Office. External Users will also need to enroll in Yale’s Multifactor Authentication (see #4 below).

For more details, click here.

3. To Recover your Username

Contact the person who provided you with your Yale NetID (i.e. Yale NetID sponsor). This may be the Principal Investigator (PI), a study manager, or business administrator.

4. To Use Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) provides an additional safeguard by verifying your identity when signing into REDCap. To get started and enroll in Yale’s MFA click here.
