Overview- How User Access Works

A Yale NetID or YNHH User ID is required to access YNHH REDCap.  Duplicates user-accounts are not permitted.  If you have both, use the ID from your employer as your primary affiliation.

Yale NetID only

There is a two-step process:

  1. Allow-List: We provide access to the REDCap server.
  2. User Rights: You provide access to the REDCap project.*

These steps ensure that  the REDCap system is secure and access is authorized by the study team.

*Only study staff, with delegated privileges, can add users and assign rights to the project. We (REDCap Administrators) cannot add users to your project.

Add New Users

Follow the instructions below to provide access to YNHH Standard REDCap and 21 CFR Part 11 Validated REDCap.

Step #1:  Server Access (Allow-list)

To obtain user access to the Yale New Haven Health (YNHH) Standard server, complete the YNHH User Account Request Form.*

            * Please note: The 21 Part 11 system has prerequisite training requirements.

Step #2: Project Access (User Rights)

The new user will need to login to REDCap to activate their account.  You can then provide access to the project through the ‘User Rights’ page found in the project.

Reactivating User Access

To reactivate your user-account on the YNHH server, submit a ticket request.
