Featuring Sui Tsang, MS
Sui Tsang is Yale's preeminent REDCap expert. When Sui offers advice, the standing practice amongst our team is that you take it. In fact, had we not taken her advice at the critical point in our evolution, there would be no REDCap at Yale. In 2011 Sui was a member of a small group of Data Managers at the Program on Aging tasked with selecting a web-based data collection tool for research studies. She brought significant experience designing data systems for clinical trials, first at Harvard and then with the Biostatistics Department at Yale.
When REDCap was launched, Sui dove in and became the go-to expert and has continued in this role for over 10 years. Sui is the creator and leader of the REDCap@Yale training program and provides advanced support to end-users. And, of course, she builds and supports REDCap-based studies at Yale. Lots of them, including: CLOUDS, RiseUp, Toll-like Receptors in Older Adults and Response to Vaccination, Circadian Rhythm Study, Patient Priorities Care, Post AMI readmission among young women, and SWEAT-ICU. This should give you an idea of the breadth and depth of her work. She is active in the REDCap consortium and always aware of the feature pipeline. It is upon her advice that we decide when to make major REDCap feature upgrades, and she works with our ITS engineers throughout the lengthy process of testing and validation. It is because of her vast expertise that she is a valued leader in our group. But don’t just take our word for it.
Angerlyk Frytz, Project Manager at the far-ranging ECHORN Coordinating Center:
Sui has been a life saver with my project and I am very appreciative of her support. Others from my department have stated the same, so I am very grateful for her knowledge and advice in our very diverse projects."
Sui's work reveals her very deep commitment not only to research, but to those who do research. We are honored to have her on our team.
