Mary Geda celebrates her award by showing off a bobblehead of her likeness, a gift from the staff at Program on Aging and REDCap@Yale, next to signs that say "Yale University Program on Aging" and "REDCap@Yale".

On Monday, May 11th, 2021, our very own Mary Geda received the Department of Internal Medicine Service Excellence award, the department's most prestigious honor for staff.

As explained in the communication distributed by the department, "[t]he awards, given on an annual basis, acknowledge and honor the outstanding attributes of two department staff whose work and behaviors support and promote the goals, values, and mission of the department."

According to the nomination letter submitted by Geriatrics Chief Mary Tinetti and colleagues, "Mary is intensely motivated and organized, inspiring her staff and co-workers to follow her lead. Once she has defined a goal, she pursues it methodically and with an uncanny ability (and willingness) to track all of the moving parts. The dedication, creativity and vitality she brings to her work is nothing short of amazing. She understands and loves research and brings all of her skills together in order to excel at every project."

We cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award, and are extremely grateful for the work that Mary puts in to administer and improve our research infrastructure offerings, and to promote REDCap to Yale leadership and to the general Yale research community.

Go Mary!
