Behind the scenes technical upgrades

We are pleased to announce that we are making structural improvements.  This affects our technical system and ITS support model.  REDCap @ Yale’s technical support will be provided by Yale’s Central Foundational Technology Services -  the ITS Linux and Database Support Teams.   

Kraig, Brian, TylerREDCap @ Yale  grew up under the care of a small, embedded ITS team.  The team included Kraig Eisenman, Brian Funaro, and Tyler Hamilton.   They have since moved into new positions in Yale’s Central Foundational Technology Services.  We are happy to report that REDCap is moving with them.  This change will allow us to build upon their existing knowledge of our REDCap application AND provide access to a large team with expertise in LINUX, enterprise-level applications, and database administration.

We will also be migrating REDCap onto a new, professionally managed platform, a MySQL Enterprise edition database.  

What does this mean for you? 

Nothing!   This is a ‘behind the scenes’ change that will ensure the stability, performance, and security of REDCap.  You won’t notice anything and that’s the point. As usage of REDCap expands, we are taking steps to ensure that the REDCap technical system is stable and grows with its user-base.
