A study refers to a collection of REDCap projects that serve the same overarching purpose.
Research Studies
For research, a study includes all REDCap projects that fall under one research protocol (IRB number). The Principal Investigator is responsible for every REDCap project associated with that protocol.
Non-Research Studies
For non-research, a study includes REDCap projects that share the same objectives, population, and/or funding source.
Study Profiles and Cap IDs
Most studies use a single REDCap project, but some require multiple projects to support their workflow. When this happens, we create a study profile and assign a CapID to link and track all related projects across servers. This allows us to manage interconnected projects more efficiently and provide better support.
